IMO, Indonesia's education system is meritocracy indeed. For example, students with good marks for their test is more favorable for the teachers. Students with bad marks is less favorable.
It would affect to the jobs too. People who don't have the right skills and ability won't get the job which demands you to possess the skills and ability.
Meritocracy has been criticized as a myth which merely serves to justify the status quo; merit can always be defined as whatever results in success. Thus whoever is successful can be portrayed as meriting (deserving) success, rather than success being in fact predicated on rational, predetermined criteria of merit.
